Yggdrasil Linux was one of the early Linux distributions that emerged in the early 1990s. It is noteworthy for being one of the first Linux distributions created for public use.

Yggdrasil released the UNIX clone for PC on 8 December 1992. This version contained the 0.98.1 version of the Linux kernel, the X Window System, different GNU utilities such as C and C++ compiler, the debugger, bison, flex, and make, text editors, and various other software.
